The ASBA Educational Foundation recently awarded five $650 scholarships. The ASBA Freshman Scholarship was awarded to four high school seniors who will attend four-year Arkansas institutions of higher education. The recipients will represent each of the state’s four congressional districts and are children of ASBA-affiliated Arkansas school board members. Those winners were:
District 1, Evelyn McHaney, Paragould High School
District 2, Zac Alexander, Clinton High School
District 3, Monica Fisk, Mulberry High School
District 4, Ashlyn Carter, Lavaca High School.
The J.K. Williams Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of former ASBA Executive Director J.K. Williams, was awarded to Courtney Coffman who is seeking a master’s degree to become a Library Media Specialist.
