SAVE THE DATE: 2020 ASBA Annual Conference

The Annual Conference is the Arkansas School Boards Association’s flagship event each year.  Although we are planning it as a virtual event and we know it will be different this year, it will still be taking place December 9-11, 2020.  We will offer a number of sessions that are timely and will be of benefit to board members and administrators.

Among the offerings will be the Thursday morning keynote speaker, Mr. Patrick Briggs.  Patrick is a thought-provoking and motivational speaker who will encourage educational leaders to examine their mindsets and practices as they consider if “all means all” when educating students. We think his high-energy presentation, entitled All Means All: Bridging the Achievement Gap will move our attendees to positive action, both in and out of the classroom.

Later on Thursday, we will host a panel of leaders and community members from around the state that have been involved in helping during the tough times of the COVID pandemic with mental health issues and adjustments among students, staff, and communities. They will share what they’ve learned that you may benefit from in your own workplace and community.

Friday morning, we will have in-person updates for you from the Education Commissioner, the Governor and a panel of Legislators.

We will still have award announcements and presentations, student speaker winners giving their speeches, and you’ll still have time to visit with vendors.

Registration and a full listing of available sessions will be coming soon so watch your email.  If you have question, please let us know by contacting Dr. Anne Butcher at abutcher@arsba.org
