ASBA Elects Officers for 2014

December 22, 2013--Jerry Don Woods, Vice President of the Dardanelle School Board, was elected President of the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) by the organization's Delegate Assembly during its annual meeting earlier this month. The meeting was held in conjunction with ASBA's annual conference at the Marriott Hotel in Little Rock. Woods joined the ASBA Board as the Region 5 Director, representing locally elected school boards in Conway, Perry, Pope and Yell counties. He most recently served as president-elect of the ASBA Board of Directors. Steve Percival, a member of the Fayetteville School Board, was named president-elect. Brenda McKown, Beebe School Board member, will serve as vice president. Sandra Porter, Bryant School Board member, was elected secretary-treasurer. Dr. Paul Hance with the Batesville School Board will serve as past president. ASBA is a not for profit organization that has provided programs and services for all of the state's locally-elected school boards for more than 50 years.
