Star City elementary school to pilot STEM program

July 12, 2013--Jimmy Brown Elementary School in the Star City School District is one of 44 schools in the nation selected to pilot the newest science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program for elementary students. The elementary STEM program is designed and developed by Project Lead the Way, the nation’s leading provider of STEM education curricular programs for middle and high school students. Project Lead the Way is currently a part of the educational offerings for students at the middle and high school at Star City. By offering this new elementary STEM program to students at Jimmy Brown Elementary, the Star City School District will offer PLTW within the entire district for students to participate in hands-on project based learning to provide them with a foundation and a proven path for college and career success.
