Five Arkansas high school seniors recently received $650 scholarships from the Arkansas School Boards Association Education Foundation. The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who are children of Arkansas school board members and who will attend Arkansas institutions of higher learning in the fall.

The awards are based on a student’s academic record and leadership potential. One award was made in each of the four congressional districts and one at-large. This is the 16th consecutive year for the awards. The recipients were:

  • Josh Duggins, Cotter High School, son of Russel Duggins, Cotter School Board
  • Jordon Miller, Buffalo Island Central High School, daughter of Gordon Miller, Buffalo Island Central School Board
  • Josh Misenheimer, Junction City High School, son of Mike Loftin, Junction City School Board
  • Monica Runge, Mayflower High School, daughter of Steven Runge, Mayflower School Board
  • Rodger Stewart, Jr., Woodlawn High School, son of Rodger Stewart, Woodlawn School Board
